A year later: Anything different?
Hey everybody, INCREDIBLY long time no see. I haven't played GW in about a year, but now I'm thinking of getting back into it. When I stopped, it was because it was stuck in a grind, and I just found myself getting kind of bored with it.
So. I wass wondering if anyone had a reason to get back into it? Has anything changed? Revolution, evolution, anything? Is ANet still despised? Does anyone still play? tl;dr: STATUS REPORT Last edited by CowTrix; Jan 05, 2009 at 03:50 AM // 03:50.. |

More of a grindfest then it was before. Although im sure you could find something to entertain you(Such as steamrolling elite areas.)

Actually - they have changed a few things. Treasure hunter and Wisdom tracks are now account-wide, with hints of more of that that come. They have made it much easier to get Kurzick/Luxon faction. The Zaishen Elite chest (not sure when that was introduced) gives lots of goodies, plus there is a title track for that. I'm sure I am forgetting a lot, but take a look at the Nov. 13 updates on wiki.
so, I guess it all depends on what you are working on. |

it's not that much different, the only thing would be to get EOTN if you haven't already... and participate in countless grind fests... I'm taking a break from it... i'm sick of waiting for the HoM update...and I don't know why ANET always reasons with the lack of changes/improvements because "we don't have enough resources"... well FREAKIN make it so players can buy more inventory storage and abilities to change character hair/name in the in-game store for real $. That way, players are happy, and ANET would be getting a steady income of money for more resources! jasdfajsiod;jgasijgsogdjiod;sfsd

Nothing has changed insofar as content. As far as respect for Anet, I've gained more after trying some of the new MMOs out there.

No new content has been added, save some new quests involving the new Hero, MOX.
Some titles are now account-wide: Treasure Hunter and Wisdom. So you are now encouraged to actually play on more than one character. Ursan has been nerfed. Shadow Form has been buffed. And nerfed. And nerfed. Some Elites that never saw the light of day have been buffed. Kegfarming has replaced raptor farming. Other than this, and the stuff people above me brought up, it's still pretty much the same. |

I'd suggest going here http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Game_updates and start reading.
I'm not being mean or sarcastic, but we have no way of knowing which changes would be important to you. If there are skills that you normally used in a favorite build, then check those out on the wiki. There have been many skill adjustments in 12 months. You can redo Hell's Precipice and get a green endgame reward weapon now. That was added during the 3rd Birthday celebration.

yes, anet got taken over by Blizzard and now Abadon is called the Lich King and we are all level 80.
In all seriousness though, if you can find your way here to post, Im sure you could find yourself to wiki - there seems to be a thread a week asking these same questions lately... |

Well you left pretty much when it was game over for the first game. There's been skeleton updates, the same holidays, etc... I didn't even pick up my hats at wintersday for the first time, that's how bored I am with their lame efforts to "entertain" these days like a chance to grind 1000 runs for a mini polar bear. Thanks but no effing thanks.

Still more or less the same. Best course of action is to pay a levelling service for all your titles and then start doing the fun stuff.

Heeeeyyyy long time no seeee maaaaan! Sup? Good to see you again! Missed you!
no wait...I have no clue who you are and even less clue what you expect us to tell you. I'll try though: 1. Still grind -> don't come back 2. Nothing new -> don't come back 3. „The same procedure as last year, Miss Sophie?“ „The same procedure as every year, James“ -> don't come back 4. Considering all the attention you attracted (probably the reason for this thread and all other "IM BACK WUTS NEW?"-threads) you have a lot of friends now so you might aswell just stay and play the game...heard it was the easiest method to see if you still like it. |
